Inside Dr Goodes, Paddington's new pizza, cocktails and disco-ball lounge
Oxford Street's newest late-night room prescribes mirror balls, slices and a Saturday line that already runs the block.
Dr Goodes has prescribed Paddington pizza, cocktails and disco balls — and the eastern suburbs appear to be filling the prescription. The 140-capacity room sits in the old Oxford Street pharmacy site, with original signage retained and a fit-out that leans heavily into red leatherette and chrome.
The food is uncomplicated: 12 pizzas, a Caesar, a tiramisu. The drinks list is built around frozen cocktails and a 'house Negroni' served on a single rock. Friday and Saturday nights run a DJ from 10pm to a 2am close.
Local hospitality circles are watching the venue closely as a test case for Oxford Street's continued late-night revival, following the success of nearby Light Brigade and The Beresford.
